Being a Mother.

I have not kept up with this the last few months. Found it hard to find the words to write anything. Between being sick, my babies being sick, holidays, Thanksgiving & Christmas break, family arriving, and all of the normal daily activities among all of that it's been hard to get my thoughts together. So I am now trying to find the words to do so, now that life has settled a bit.
Being a mother is not just about being able to have a child and love it. It is something that changes you and your life forever. Being a mother changes your role in the world, it changes how you look at the world. You are forever responsible for this new little person. Being a mother is not a job, it is a gift. It is a blessing like no other. Sure it can be stressful at times, and hard at times, but it is the greatest blessing I have ever been given. It is a love that only a mother can fully understand. You learn of a strength you never knew existed. Being a mother has brought me the greatest joy of my life.

Being a mother is about raising your child to be a good person, feeding them, teaching them, keeping them safe, kissing their boo boos, changing their diapers, feedings all night long, staying up till 1 am finishing everything for that day they look forward to every year that is a celebration of their precious life, talking with them, showing them how to be kind, teaching them how to read, helping with homework, cleaning up after them, rocking them when they are sick, snuggling them when they are sad, making that perfect cup of hot chocolate to help warm them when they are cold, driving them to school, taking them to do activities and to see friends, fixing toys when they are broken, finding that perfect shirt they just have to wear, seeking for scary monsters, planning that special vacation, creating that perfect outfit for your beautiful princess, turning that old shirt into a cape for your little super hero, showing them how to grow a relationship, watching them grow into these amazing people that you have helped create, helping them plan their future whether it be college or career, watching them make decisions for their life, helping plan that day when they commit to love another for the rest of their life, seeing them become a parent, receiving the gift of grandchildren. Being given the chance to love, hug, kiss, listen to laughter fill your heart, hold those precious hands, hear those precious voices calling you Mommy. Taking care of them 24 hours a day 7 days a week, watching them grow and their lives unfold for the rest of your life.

These are things that I have the blessing of doing for Mary, Kyle, Iyan, & Owyn but I do not get to do for Lucy. I do not get to do these everyday things with and for Lucy. This is where my heart is now. It has been almost a year, I lost nearly 8 months of this year, and now I am approaching 1 year since she was born sleeping. It is such a blessing, and the greatest joy to have my babies and be able to be a mother to them and my heart wishes more then anything to be able to do them for Lucy as well. Not being able too is like my days are incomplete, that I am always forgetting to do something. I am finding my peace with it, but it is still hard knowing I will not be able to share in that with her. It is so hard to be a mother to a child that you can not mother. So I ask that you be patient with me. If you see me watching my children play and I seem distracted it's because I am soaking up watching my babies and enjoying every moment because it goes so very fast and I am missing out on watching one of my blessings play & grow too. 

They have each brought a new experience, a new love, a new joy to our lives.

My life is forever changed. Part of my heart is in Heaven. I am so thankful and so blessed with my children and I am happy, but it will never change the fact that I will never be able to hug and kiss, and watch one of my children grow. My days are incomplete. I pray that I can continue to find peace, and enjoy every moment with my little ones because they will be grown before I know it <3
